Quote: It’ll be nice when you “bad to the bone” types retire and the culture here will start to resemble that of a Fortune 500 company with a diverse and inclusive workforce where you actually feel valued by our seasoned peers, and not that of a circa 1985 F-whatever military squadron that makes us feel as if we have to “earn” the right to call ourselves FedEx pilots.

Maybe then will young FO’s start to feel welcome at the company they’ve spent their whole life trying to get hired at.
Well, how inclusive and accepting of you.
So, all will be well when you can look across the AOC and feel like you're looking in a mirror - got it. And all will be well when no one dares indicate they may have been affiliated with any branch of the military for fear of offending you - got it.

Are you now a FedEx pilot? Are you where you want to be in your career? If the answer to both questions is yes, then what's the problem? (other than a clear lack of appreciation for the diversity you claim to value so much). Every young FO I've flown with or spent time on layovers with seems pretty happy and everyone else on the crew has gone out of their way to help, mentor and make them feel welcome.

Quote: Oh, and stop calling it at “jet.” It’s OK to go with the release just on the iPad, you don’t need all that paper anyway. Lay off the popcorn, those simple carbs are bad for you. Fox News is fake news and not everyone cares about your guns and Sean Hannity infatuation.
Whether you choose to put or after your post, it's pretty clear from your posts in this thread that you're a problem child. The new FOs I fly with (regardless of background) are not like you and your little laundry list of complaints are noise level crap that you really need to leave at home.

This is a great job that a few pilots on our seniority list try to make far more difficult than it needs to be. That usually results when they come to work looking for problems. They make this job far less pleasant by whining about diversity and inclusiveness at the same time they do just the opposite by throwing spears at segments of our crew force with a specific background, different constitutional values, a preference for paper flight plans or calling the aerospace vehicle something they don't like.

If you consistently find yourself feeling unwelcome here, I guarantee it's your problem and not every else's (although I'm sure you'll strive to make it their problem as well).

How can you talk about diversity when you’re advocating for a certain group of the work force to retire just for your own gratitude? Where is the diversity in that?

I like paper, it is a renewable resource, and we have plenty of trees. When you are a Captain, which sadly won't be long from now, you can run your cockpit like you want. Until then, shut up and color. You must be too lazy to print and staple my release, hence your attitude towards paper.

Why should we not call it a jet?

Never mind, I don't care about your answer, or anything you have to say, for that matter, based on your previous comments.

I think we should bring back the no fly list for Captain's, so this "better than the rest of us" person can be number one on mine.

Seriously, you need to look in the mirror and do some self evaluation, or your name will be in open time often because people won't want to fly with you.

I run a relaxed but professional cockpit. I don't need some 20 something telling me how to do my job. I'll let the check airman do that.

Once again, validating the original point and venturing way off topic. Never mind making ridiculous assumptions about me that you have no idea of.

The point was that some (a very small portion) of new hires are overly sensitive.

You are proving to be just that. But good job making all the standard assumptions, using the latest buzz words, and jumping to conclusions.
