Quote: “-2 months” means that the most junior lineholder this month is 2 months more senior than the junior line holder from last month. It indicates more senior people opting for a line instead of reserve, less lines in general, or a position becoming more senior than the previous month. Unless you know how many people that the line/reserve threshold actually moved, it is only a vague idea of how long it might take to hold a line.
This is correct.

What’s the deal with the 200 flying in ATL? Does anybody know why it’s being reduced?

Base/Aircraft/DOH Junior Pilot/ DOH Junior Lineholder (Change since Jan Awards)

FO

ATL/200/Apr18/Jan18 (+1 Month/No Change)
ATL/900/May18/Oct17 (+5 Months/No Change)
DTW/200/Oct18/Mar18(+2 Months/+1 Month)
DTW/900/Sep18/Mar18 (+4 Months/+2 Months)
MSP/900/Aug18/Sep17(+7 Months/No Change)
NYC/200/NH/Mar18 (New Hire/ - 2 Months)
NYC/900/NH/Jul18(New Hire/No Change)

FO Notes:
* Many bases are seeing an increase in senior pilots bidding LCR, opening up lines to junior pilots.
* The most senior base to hold is ATL (both 200 and 900). The most senior base to hold a line is MSP with ATL 900 a very close 2nd.
* NYC 200 is the only base/plane to see a decline this month. (Junior line holder date).
As a Sep 2018 hire, this is exciting to me. I *think* there are only 1-2 ahead of me on the 900 that want DTW as an FO that haven't gotten it yet. I'm hoping that this new ATL vacancy will cause DTW FOs to move to ATL that have been waiting for it. That *might* create an opportunity for those of us that want DTW as well, correct?

Quote: Nope, they're junior. Look at my post for January awards - the ATL 900 junior pilot was a December 2017 hire. In February the junior ATL 900 pilot was a May 2018 pilot. That's plus 5 months in calendar months. This month the most junior pilot is 5 months more junior than they were last month.

My format might be a bit confusing - I'll see about cleaning it up next month.

I pretty much understand it now, thank you for your reply

That ended up a big fat no for DTW. No backfilling this time, just staffing being reduced from movement.

Also similar situation for ATL 200, no backfilling due to shifting of ATL 200 flying to NYC 200 flying (by ~5 "aircraft lines").

“Shifting” if you dig around in the Delta schedules there’s literally zero change in flying with the NYC200 for 9E. It’s all smoke and mirrors.

I live in Atlanta, what base I'm I most likely to get on the -900?
