Quote: Wow, take it easy. First, who said I didn't get the line I wanted? Second, my main point was that it didn't make sense for a commuter and this was a dick move, since it hurts the commuter and the person who lives in base that could have held it.

Lastly, I said to each their own, agreeing that this is the system we work in. I AM however allowed to have an opinion, and that opinion is this was a dick move.
You take things too personal. The “so can you” wasn’t directed at you specifically, just a general usage of the term to fit in with the sentence, more so to the person who said something to me about my line choice once.

I understand, my tone came through wrong lol. I didn’t take it personally other than that I disagreed.

Personally I think their wives had bid for them, and they were mad at them so GFY was their motive.

Quote: What blew my mind was that some of the people who picked up the lines in ORD that were 18 days off are commuters. Makes no sense to me. Enjoy buying 9 hotel rooms and giving up 4-5 days of the time off for travel.

Not to mention I feel it is kind of a dick move to take a day trip line as a commuter given that it is a golden line for someone living in base. Anyway, to each their own I guess.
Lol they must either have an amazing crashpad in ORD, or a nagging wife at home.

Don’t forget that a day trip line gives you a ton of schedule flexibility. You want to trade back back day trips for an easy 2/3/4 day...done. When I commuted to ORD, I had months when I got a 2-day line, and 16+ days off. You know how often I could trade a 2 day for a super easy 3 day in base...more than half the time, and still had 13+ days off for the month.

That being said, seniority is everything in this company...unless you are on RAP/Stby and a pilot junior to you (same STBY/RAP window) gets called for a great trip, and then you get called for something vastly inferior.

Anyone try changing passwords since signing up for Duo?

Trying to figure out how to change Outlook and myenvoy passwords now without messing it up.

It used to be you needed to change Outlook first, then myenvoy password second.

Anyone have any pointers?

I did it last night. It prompts you when to change it in Outlook.

Ok, so just do it in myenvoy first, then it will prompt you?

Any issue with doing it at home, or did you do it on a company computer?

I did it at home. It asks you where you're doing it from. Just follow the prompts.

I think a lot of people would take issue with the 'dick move' comment. Everyone bids differently for different reasons. I know one guy that commutes to DFW that has a girlfriend there (he's single otherwise). I'm sure he'd like a line like that. I know another guy that commutes to ORD that has an ailing father that lives there. He might find a line like that useful. It's fair and right that they use their seniority to get lines like that if that's what that want.

And as to the 'golden line' comment, those senior commuters that took a schedule that appears golden to someone local left 'golden lines' on the table for other commuters. It all evens out.
