Quote: When is the grid ever good? How many times have they said no even when it’s a contractual right? I’m not really sure why anyone thinks because we have a new cba that anything will change... it’s laughable... and what’s even more pathetic is the union isn’t even going after monetary damages for grievances filed for the start of the contract... They want to “work with the company” to make sure the contract is implemented properly... they just invite bull$hit...

Get ready to wear hats too.... the company wants that now... it says in section 18, “at the pilots option, a hat may be purchased”... watch the union cave on that one and not get us anything...
I don’t know where your based or what seat your in so I can’t answer your first question. If they say no and it’s your contractual right file a dispute. That’s how this works. As far as your statement about how the union isn’t going after monetary damages that’s incorrect as well. It depends on what provision of the contract was violated. If the intent of the language Is clear (99% of it is) you will get paid. At the pilots option means you can opt not to purchase one.

Let’s just assume the grid is always bad in the seat and base your in. You can add through aggressive reserve into days off (they can’t say no) You can add on days off (they can’t say no) You can’t add into your next rdp block ( due to the grid always being bad).

HATS!!!

That’s it... I’m out here. If I wanted to look like a pilot, I’d dress up as one for Halloween.

What’s next... Wings on our shirts!?

Wait....... 🙄
That just shows how little you get it... it’s not about hats... it’s in our contract that it’s at our option... it’s a contractual right bargained for... if we give that to the company, then I want something to replace it in return... I want an extra sick day a month, or an extra week of vacation... anything but I’m sure our union will say, “you’re right company... what else can we give you for free?”

Yes.

Should go into effect next January. Maybe earlier.

We retained a lot of good work rules with it. We will still be able to add, swap, drop, and split trips. We also got some nice vacation policies with PBS.

Also, we will use NavBlue

While I agree with your overall premise two things. I’m pretty sure that’s carry in language from an Loa we got for one of the paycuts. It’s essentially language that allowed us to not wear hats because prior to that Loa they were required. So with that in mind I don’t see the company now being able to use that language to require hats. The practice is established and the intent is clear through the Loa. That’s the whole reason it was carried in. Two, I wouldn’t say it was bargained for I would characterize it as given to us a for 75 million plus paycut. In the end I don’t care enough about it to go back and look up old Loa’s. Have fun if you want to. P.s. there are pilots that like to wear hats and this language allows for that.

LAS base junior FOs! Just curious percentage of red eyes and number of days off per month?
Also, Can you bid mornings to stay away from red eyes (reserve)? I am a morning person and red eyes kill me.
Crash pads in Vegas? Ballpark price?
Sorry for really basic questions, but haven't flown domestically for over 13 years.
Is Vegas a growing base? Upgrade times for LAS?

Average days off for LAS was 15.

Short call RSV RAPs are 10.5 hours starting at 0400, 0800, 1200, 1700 and 1900. So yes, you can bid mornings.

I'm about 10% up the FO list in LAS, to date I've been blocking 30 to 40 hours, and flying 11 to 15 days a month. AM reserve seems to go more senior, so plan a few months on Reserve D (1700 - 0000) with a fair share of redeyes. I'm hopeful of a relief line by May (7 months on the line).

Crash pad run between $200 to $350, from what I've seen.

LAS has not been growing, all of the growth is happening in PHL, and since we are at the 100 crew mark in LAS I don't know if I expect that to change. LAS is very redeye heavy so there is no way, that I can see to avoid them long term.

Good luck, PM if you end up needing crash pad leads.
