Is there a place for me at Frontier, and in your opinion, would it be the kind of job that would be conducive to a family. Coming from being home about 75% of the time, but also bringing job related duties home typical to corporate aviation. Assuming a fairly easy commute, what are your professional thoughts. Living in one of the F9 bases at this time is not an option but desirable down the road. It will take a number of years to make what I’m making now, but will be able to match in a few years as a FO. Ready to apply. Cheers,

I came to F9 from 91/135 last year, and the commute was by far the hardest adjustment for me. I hate it, and it is almost another job in itself, but I live in a small community that only has 3 flights a day, so YMMV. I decided to move to base, and expect my next year here to be dramatically better then my first. Commuting to reserve will be a big change of lifestyle if you are home 75% of the time now. (12 days off a month + commute = not much time at home).
However, if you decide it is the right decision for you and your family, I would definitely say there is a place for you. If you prepare for the interview, and show them that you really want to be here, I'd say you have good odds (a career fair could help increase the chance for an interview).
Even though I hate the commute, I believe coming to F9 was the best decision I could have made, and I am really looking forward to my future here. It was a really nice change of pace to not have any work to bring home, or drama to figure out. I took a big pay cut as well, but by yr 3 I will have recouped the loss when you take into account retirement contributions. Using that 20/20 hindsight it should have been a no brainer, but I really struggled when making the decision. Needless to say I'm glad I did. Good luck either way.
