It would have to be under a different operating certificate I'd think.

Southern Air I thought was going to operate the 737s for Amazon.

I’ve hearing this for a few weeks now - even though JO has been intersted in cargo for a long time, I just don’t see it happening. I hope we wouldn’t want to fly those things for the rates JO would pay.

Don't tell me you wouldn't jump at it if it was a higher rate than present? I've heard this 737 rumor recently from pretty high up.

I really don’t think so...commuting to CVG to fly backside of the clock? That’s not for me, but if a bunch of DFW captains senior to me wanted to do it I’d be happy for them. I’d like to move up the seniority list.

That sounds terrible. Can you imagine ready reserve in CVG all day or night.

Throw in homebasing, where they buy you a ticket into work, and to go home, the entire pilot group would go for it, don't kid yourself in thinking no one would do it.
Ready reserve all day or night? Packages come in and go out like clockwork, you shouldn't be sitting any reserve when airplanes aren't scheduled.
Furthermore, the industry standard is for you to be in a paid for hotel room when not on ready, with homebasing.
As bad as it sounds to you, industry standard for this sort of thing is still light years ahead of the regionals. But again, JO will do what he wants, and Mesa pilots will accept it.

What makes you think JO will offer home basing? Gateway basing (i.e. imputed income dead heads) ala Atlas maybe, but I think even that would be a stretch.

He won't because he won't have to.
