Quote: I guess reading isn't your strong suit, eh? I don't feel inferior because I'm not. The CA job is not as hard as you're making it. Again, you literally just have to be here long enough and they literally just give it to you after passing a checkride.
You’re not a very happy person, are you? I spent 16 years in the right seat of 5 different fleets before I upgraded, and I don’t think I ever flew with a Captain as miserable as the ones you’re describing. In 16 years (minus 3 on furlough) I flew with 2 or 3 that I didn’t really want to fly with again. Maybe it’s your attitude, and not the Captains you’re flying with.

You're right. It's my attitude that made the multiple Captains blow off, yell at and make flight attendants cry. I should definitely work on that. Lol

Quote: If you work in certain airlines. But at Delta, American and United.... just to name a few, Captain’s authority still means a lot and carries significant weight. Now if you are some snowflake trying to start a wizzing match then go elsewhere. If you are a disgruntled First Officer looking at a loooong upgrade somewhere and think you deserve it now... I can’t help you or your ego. Part of professionalism is knowing your part and the discipline that goes along with it. While you point out that there are some bad Captains, I’d also point out that those bad Captains were most likely bad First Officers.

As a former captain, what authority are you exercising the is contrary to the crew consensus? Authority is largely an outdated concept on the flight deck. Responsibility on the other hand falls more on your shoulders but not entirely. One hangs, all hang so commanding a crew or FO to do something by your authority seems tenuous at best. I get that a major airline captain position is the pinnacle of the career but it is only attainable by age and seniority, not skill or superior ability.

If that’s a true statement I would suggest going through pro-standards. It’s a good resource.

And after reading your previous post it’s plainly clear that you are the one in need of being reported.

You know what a chief pilot told me once? People with no fly lists end up on people’s no fly lists. In other words, take a hard look in the mirror.

Just curious. How long have you been here?

"Actually, I could be a captain. Easily. And I've been one before."

Would you like me to give you my name and date of birth too? Haha.

No, I don't care about either of those things.

Then why ask such an irrelevant question?

Quote: Gold star for m/u or naughty list?
You had better have minutes under sked, or you go on the other list, "Delta Slugs."

Are you sure they didn’t make you cry?
