Quote: So you are saying that negotiations are going so poorly that we won't have a vote on a new contract before fall 2020 or did you mean this fall?
I am guessing he meant fall of 2020. Short of some sort of trigger, I would expect almost no movement until mediation. If you want a “tell” of how things are going with the NMB, the time they dedicate to us will tell the story.

Fall of 2020 is the very earliest I see a vote and that’s not even likely. We have closed one section that had any real cost involved. Mediation is mandated in the contract this spring. It can take months to get a mediator assigned and set up a meeting schedule. There are often weeks or even months between mediated sessions.

That is very disappointing to hear or think about. We haven’t had protracted negotiations since C2K and eventually the company tries to turn every other employee group against us.

Quote: Today's AE states end of 2019 or 2020.
Almost every AE that has been projected by CR has been pushed back a month or 2.
I haven't been here very long, but that's not been the case recently. They originally said there'd be an AE in April-May, upped it to late March-April, and actually came out mid-March. At the time, they said they'd come out with another one in Dec 2019 or early 2020. Then boom, surprise AE in May, with the next one moving up to Nov/Dec. Then came the M88 cancellations, forcing a smaller October AE that ended up coming out in early Sept, and still saying they'll have a big one in Nov/Dec.

At least in the last 8 months, every AE has come out on the early side of the original window plus a few extra unplanned ones thrown in for good measure. I'm still too poor to be a betting man, but if I were, I'd vote for mid-late November.

To me, an AE without captain positions means nothing. We have had 1 meaningful AE per year for the last few years and even they have been underwhelming. The movement here is depressing outside of NYC.

There are 24 CA positions.

The next two AEs will be very meaningful to you. Significant movement on the horizon

You know, to some of us, Atlanta isn’t the center of the universe. We need wide body Captain positions. That helps everyone.
