There’s no SLC 717 base, so even though the 220 pays more than the 717, in SLC the 220 is the lowest-paying fleet, not the 717.

The a350 captain green slip party that occurred for a few months earlier this year and the pilots making statements that several captains were going to make “a million” dollars this year will definitely hurt us. First off, if you run the numbers I really don’t think any pilots made a million dollars but if they did, it was a very small few. The problem is that so many flight attendants and other employees think it’s true and paint all of us pilots as making that kind of money. No employees at this company will have any sympathy for the pilots if negotiations drag on.

Yeah well it’s not your bank account that is the problem. Once this thing drags on the company will start putting out memo’s saying basically your raises are on hold until we see how much we have to pay the greedy old pilots. It makes coming to work a miserable experience.

They make us wear black hats for a reason. Every few years, we get to earn them! They will get over it, they always do.

I don't care what other departments think about pilots. I tried being overly nice and sympathetic for years. The bottom line is that everyone has a job to do. My personality is who I am, my attitude depends on who you are. I greet people with a good handshake, a smile, and a large amount of respect. If that's not enough for somebody... ...I'll just do my job and you do yours.

Yet they just announced a decent raise for 1 Oct and in the 30 plus years I have been here they have never done that.
