You’re not exactly being professional in your interaction if you’re too terrified to fly with them.
Actually, I have to throw in with MedSledDriver on this one. While I wouldn’t refuse to fly with a woman pilot (hey, CVRs can be your friend too) the “Dear Colleague” letter that came out in Title IX during the Obama administration pointed out that - for men - the historical presumption of innocence regarding criminal acts involving sex was now gone. You were either inherently to be disbelieved because of your gender, or so steeped in “toxic masculinity” that it was presumed you simply couldn’t help yourself.
I saw careers destroyed, both in college and in the military, over he-said/she-said’s that were absolutely unprovable but even if true did not rise to the level of criminal activity.
I’ll be the first to admit that there are wild guys out there with little respect for women and very poor impulse control who do need to be reined in, but anyone who thinks there aren’t wild women out there with poor impulse control who will take advantage of the fact that a he-said/she-said can easily destroy a man’s career is an idiot.
Personally, I think if you have someone keeping the home fires burning and taking care of the kids, that’s where you ought to be looking for romance. And if you don’t, I’d strongly recommend you look for... whatever, outside of your own employee pool.
