I don’t even share elevators at airports or hotels with female flight attendants. It’s paranoia, sure, but it’s also out of principal. They can accuse you of anything at any time and if you think your company would even consider your side of the story before they fire you you’re delusional.
Just don’t.

The trend I noticed (previously doing representation) was for sure there were definitely legitimate accusations.
The majority of the false accusations typically surfaced around the time the FA was up for probation review or had an attendance issue hanging over their heads.
There were many pilots guilty of having their fingers in too many pies the above being said.
Now i think about it, more of the issues arose from female/male pilot combos than FA’s pointing fingers.

That's why actual sexual relations, or at least being alone in a hotel room, are easy pickings for someone looking for a #metoo payday.
If you stay in public view, there's always the chance of surveillance video disproving a bogus claim. IMO it's more about removing temptation and minimizing your vulnerability. I'm not paranoid, but I am conscious of it.
If you're single or otherwise "in play", there's a whole additional set of considerations. My consideration is just to not have unaccounted for time out of public view.
My views have changed dramatically, I recently vocally supported one co-worker (the female) in a he-said/she-said situation. Boy was I wrong, turned out the plaintiff was trying to deflect serious discipline by twisting poor judgement into a rape claim. It's for real fellas.

Someone making a bogus claim prefers that it cannot be readily dis-proven.

If someone makes a claim, you're pretty much fired and done in 121 unless you can IMMEDIATELY produce video exonerating yourself. Otherwise the company will wash their hands of you and move on. They don't care if they have to fight YOU in court later, what they REALLY cannot risk is the media doing a big expose about why you were NOT fired instantly... in the media you are absolutely guilty, and can probably never be exonerated. An accused abuser who turns out to be innocent is waaaaay off message, and doesn't sell papers anyway.

Kind of surprised—-shocked even—-by the majority of responses of guys.
Now I’m trying to figure out if they are overly cautious/pessimistic..or if I am not enough.

"Wait until it happens to you!"

Just be a decent person. If something feels wrong or uncomfortable don't do it.
