Quote: Can anyone shed some light on 5 day trips? % of the trips that are 5 day, what equip, base, ect?
They're on the increase in CLT. Not sure maybe 5%.. was 2%. Decreasing in some status it's all over the place system wide.
Once you get one it's nearly impossible to get rid of it without calling in sick.

Quote: Same as the "don't worry, you'll be senior someday son" crowd. Once when I was commuting from the master base to LGA, the very senior skipper asked me, "well, you got your bid in for DFW"? WOW, what an idea, thanks I never would have thought of that!

Even working my ass off, I'm happy to not be commuting anymore. I do miss the MIA flying though.

DFW 737 I

You’re bid status is tiny - and as an international reserve you are also a domestic reserve. I’d get out of there as quick as possible.

Back in 2008, 2009, 2010 the regionals were running us hard. Min rest overnights were common. 7 leg days. 7-2-2-7 4 day trips.

I feel it’s back to those days at American Airlines. 5 day trips. Flip flop schedules. Early late early then the Late/Early redeye.

We only really get enough sick time to call out for 2 five day trips in a year. Well $hit. I got 3 of them this month alone.

Don’t forget hotel choices that leave you scratching your head.

Worlds biggest airline? How about “worlds biggest $hitty regional airline”

Oh. I do make 1.5x the money.

Can we get stickers made up that say “I’ll care about On Time Performance when you care about my QOL”!

It will be interesting to see how December goes. In my bid status 40 out of the 79 who hold it, are on reserve.

I curious from the PBS haters... how senior do you think you have to be for PBS to work?

Well said. It is run like a big regional. I think they want as many people as possible on the road and available for reassignments to help fix the inevitable operational sh#t show. Productive and efficient schedules would require the airline to run a good operation. APA better hit a home run if they don’t want to be replaced by ALPA. Base hits aren’t going to cut it when we already trail in all areas except hourly rates of pay.

Seafeye,

Just so prospective new guys have an Acura the picture. What percent are you in your seat and how picky are you in your PBS bid?

This gets me every time. While only having 7 layers is a negative, my use of them is the problem.

Previous 320 FO, 50ish%, weekends/ some holidays off, no red eyes unless it made sense for the commute. Historically would have a PBS blunder to mess it all up though.

Now 78 FO, mid 90%, and weekends/holidays are my Jam. Summers I can get a line due to local seniors bidding reserve to be home more, I believe. SC over Nov and Dec but otherwise LC if I want it. Overall can’t complain, but still do....
