Lots of Atlas pilots at JetBlue and Spirit. Never seen anyone from JetBlue or Spirit at Atlas. That should give you an idea of where you should go. Don't chase the dream of travelling the "world", you'll just end up in a small town in Germany in a 2 star hotel with min rest. My advise is go to an airline that has a base your willing to move to. QOL is key.

I know one guy who left Spirit for an ACMI but only because he had no choice. With two busted upgrades under his belt he was an FO for life. Things worked out for him and he upgraded on a three-holer, but I’m sure he’d rather be at Spirit...

Everyone else is stampeding the other way. Heck, last week someone posted a letter of resignation from a guy leaving Atlas to back to a regional.

As far as “seeing the world”, yeah, that’s fun. I get it. If you’re really hellbent on that, I’d probably focus on Kalitta and I guess Omni, but nobody else. Southern, if you get the 777, you’ll see the world. Or at least, the same six or seven cities. Again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And six more times just for good measure. But ever since the 74’s went away, the ticket to see the world has mostly shriveled up...

This is incorrect, we did get a Spirit guy once. A guy by the name of Jeff Carlson, after he tried his best to ruin that place. Soon after his replacement there, they got a good contact and have been rock stars ever since. Meanwhile JC brought over some flunkies from Spirit and invited all his buddies from Nortwest to take key roles at Atlas and pad their retirements with obscene pay and bonuses. Atlas feels like it is in its death throes and those responsible will head off into luxurious retirement when we finally fold.

If you want to go to a legacy go to the airlines HR knows. Not an ACMI they've never heard of before. Think of HR as the flying public they know nothing of this industry but name brand. Go there!

I know its uncool to quote yourself, but the very next day the first two FOJ's cleared their desks and loaded them into the trunks of their Mercedes-Benz' and headed off into luxurious retirement..... You can't make this shizzle up.

how many are leaving Kalitta, Omni or even ATI.....

Kalitta & Omni are about on par with a Jetblue or Spirit. The 767 CA rates are above a few legacies. Highest first year FO pay in the entire 121 industry is Omni & Kalitta. ATI is just slightly behind them. Factor in never commuting, real tickets to/from work and the pilot keeps the air miles earning status fairly quickly; never having to buy a hotel, never needing a crashpad, Keeping the hotel points....
versus
LCC/Legacy commuting to reserve in a crashpad, or trips non commutable on one or both ends requiring a hotel or crashpads. Commuting 3-5 times a month. Only home 2-5 days at a time between most trips. Then upgrading and going back to commuting to reserve....

we live where we want, not where the airline happens to have a base. We vacation several times a year without ever using vacation time. Two to four weeks off at every monthly transition if you bid smartly. Real award miles tickets when you want them for vacations. Nice hotels free on award points; no LaQuinta’s..., frankly, best kept secret in 121

I cannot speak for K4 or Omni, but we are not seeing a huge exodus. All our classes were full last year (12 or more) and we anticipate the same this year. Classes are starting up again in March and will continue till at least peak.
