LIFT is a pretty good program. Current student there now. Send me a message if you have any other questions.

Congrats on making a decision. You should still be almost guarenteed to get hired on as a CFI when you finish. I hope the assessment goes well.

I guess you haven’t been through an event like this before. As 1,000s of highly qualified pilots hit the street and no current CFIs moving on to the airlines things will drastically change. I can assure you there is no guaranteed CFI job by the time he achieves his CFI. Just like the other downturn events that devastated aviation, it takes only weeks or months to hit bottom but literally years to get back to where it was. Good luck to all

That was in reference to an earlier post. A lot happens in 1 year. He's still has to take the assessment, then he is out another 3-4 months for a class.

We don't know what's gonna happen with coronavirus. A lot is hinged upon next 4 months. Whether coronavirus goes away with summer or not remains to be seen. I could always pull back if things get a lot worse. If things get bettet then I wouldn't want to miss out on the shortage. I know the wager has very tricky odds given the situation right now.

Lift Academy
Thought I would share what I know about current intakes, I had applied to Lift late 2019 and was accepted. I was waiting to get my 1st class medical(March 2020) when the virus hit. During that time, I was accepted into the program, but all orientation classes are canceled at the moment. According to Lift, I am still accepted, but as to when an actual class date begins, its unknown at the moment.

FYI, the “pilot shortage” is over. For real over. Like for awhile over. Done like a TV dinner. Good luck!

I believe ATP flight school is considering themselves an "essential buisness" and staying open. Hopefully that means they CAN instead of they MUST. Otherwise if they depend on private student loans to keep buisness going they just might crash like ITT Tech did, and like other for-profit schools did that depended on loans.
