Quick app question
Quote: I've gotten to the part with the two columns for two manned aircraft. I can't remember what the columns are from my past apps, but nothing on my app shows what the columns are supposed to be...is it PIC and SIC or Instructor vs PIC or.... I enabled cookies tried on Edge and Chrome and the both show up like this....
Any know the answer?

The left column is PIC, and the right is SIC.

They (training center) are two sims down (A300 and B757) and backed up in training. One of the Feb classes was sent home for a week due to bottleneck. And one of the March classes is, or will be sent home for 3 weeks due to the back up. Training center is full tilt....with sims down, they can’t keep up. Sims are down due to switching them over to the new avionics. The last 757 sim hasn’t even began the switch yet. All new hires are LDS (new avionics) trained only.

Quite a few open, admittedly less than popular time-of-the day sim slots on the 74.
Not disagreeing with your comment; just emphasizing that the current bottlenecks are only the 75 & airbus fleets.

Quote: I understand all of that. I was simply asking if anyone else has heard that number? Seems like a specific number.
300 says management. Doesn’t mean it’s true, but that’s whats this week’s talk is. Also the app went down for technical reasons, nothing sinister.

Quote: So 162 then? There was never an official number given but the latest rumor was 162.
140-200, “definitely fewer than last year”.
(don’t know what that number was nor why she said it. I was not part of the conversation, my friend was)

Source: 757 (I think?) FQS. ..and yes, her lips were moving so take it for what it’s worth. She probably doesn’t know herself..

I think there were approx. 140 new hire vacancies on the last bid. So if true, there won't be a need for a summer bid. Difficult to believe considering we'd finish the year with less captains that we started with.

As far as the manager, if her initials are AA, I wouldn't buy into it too much.

The company did not anticipate this many early retirements, plus multiple sources have thrown around the 300 number. Best guess, close to 300 this year due to attrition and new airplanes. Once all delivered completed, most likely drop down to 150-200 year for the foreseeable future. Even though retirements start in earnest ‘23-‘24, hiring will most likely slow down compared to the last few years as no more new planes, only retirements.
