Unless something has changed recently, most likely something like-

2-3 weeks in ATW (systems/Indoc)

a few days to a few weeks off.

CPT (likely in ATW, possibly in ATL)

a few days off

5 sims, 2 days off, 5 sims, 2 days off, 3 sims, loft, checkride.

a few days to a few weeks off then two trips of OE. All goes well you’ll be signed off in about 25 hours.

you’ll probably be at the Hampton in ATW. Decent location by the mall, but If you can drive, drive. it’s very helpful for getting groceries/dinner. The shuttle will happily cart you around but having your own car just makes life a lot easier.

ATL you’ll be at the Sonesta by the airport. The hotel itself is relatively nice. Fridges in rooms, microwaves in common areas every other floor. I would not recommend leaving the hotel after dark. There is plenty around to eat but groceries are a hike, I would plan on using Instacart or something.

Assuming no delays/hiccups you’re looking at probably 2 months from day 1 to normal line flying.

Indoc and systems are 2 weeks a piece. Plan on 4 weeks on Day 1.

3 months day 1 to start OE is realistic.

Does anyone have info on how commutable the lines are out of the different bases? Is ORD more commutable than IAD, etc.?

ORD is the most commutable by far as it’s a hub for both AA and United, along with about 1.5hours in a subway to midway. It is also the most senior by several months.

I have a question regarding pay. Could you guys tell me how much you're bringing home a month gross roughly? I know everyone situation is a bit different but I am looking at buying a house and I'd like to have an idea of what to expect.

Also, I see that companies like PSA and Endeavor base pay is $51 to $52 per hour while AW is $37 for the first year. Does it all average to be about the same at the end of the month due to the contracts or do some companies just pay that much more than others?

You should speak to a mortgage broker asap and try and find one that deals with pilots. Traditional lenders are only going to take your base pay and use that since that is the consistent pay on your check. Per diem and overages vary month to month and you'll have a hard time proving that to lenders.

We get paid 37.5 hours twice a month. Per diem and overages paid the following month.

Never plan on that for budgeting.

if Covid taught us anything, you never plan on per diem / OT. I went from averaging 100+ credit hrs a month to min guarantee for almost a year. Budget for the bare minimum.
