They basically said they’re flushing the whole pool, and you can probably stick around for a re-interview if you have your ATP...without specifically saying they’re flushing the pool.

I guess that’s one way to do it.

Sounds like they are trying to be cheap and not pay for the ATP-CTP course for new hires. Typical PDT, unwilling to invest in employees.

There is no referral bonus anymore so no reason to lie to people. Don’t consider PDT unless you have no other option. There is zero reason to rank PDT over any other regional that is hiring right now. You can make more money and have a better schedule somewhere else while flying newer airplanes.

At a time when AA acts like they want to be all inclusive, hire women and minorities, it sounds like Piedmont has chosen to keep the inclusive policy out. Why has PSA chosen not to do this and Piedmont has? Piedmont management is far behind the times and actually has put up more barriers to a more inclusive hiring practice. They are well aware they can eliminate pilots who don't have the means to pay for the ATP CTP. Someone needs to ask why they are the only wholly owned AA carrier to go this route.

I'll bite...

I'd guess they are just looking for the most highly qualified candidates and not hiring based on preference of gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation preferences.

You conveniently didn't read half of what he said I guess.

Did you get your ATP through Piedmont or another regional? Guess you were not a highly qualified candidate and are now at the helm of a passenger jet. Scary!

They’re doing nothing but being cheap. Get a grip

AA just begged Lori Cline, a female, to head up pilot hiring. They practically begged her. They had to give her a very lucrative pay and travel package to make her bite. Message sent. The message is we want more women running the hiring, and hired. A 3 yr tenured African American pilot is promoted to chief pilot status. Message sent.

Piedmont Airlines just choked down the gauge of the pipeline of hiring by requiring an ATP/CTP. This absolutely ratchets down the window to lots of women and minorities.

I say its it's less than two weeks before someone at Piedmont gets a call about this, hauled down to DFW for a carpet dance, fired about this, or demoted because of this. ,
Hopefully it's someone the pilots don't like much. Because Lori just got her first chance to send a message.

No, never was interested in a management job. But I guarantee you that someone absolutely cares, and you obviously have no idea how it does work.
