To be on the safe side I’d plan to be working both tgiving and Christmas Day this year but it’s reasonable to expect at least 2 days off near those dates if you learn how to bid quickly. So maybe Santa arrives in the 22d or 27th this time. Your wife might also be able to fly with u on a holiday if that sounds appealing.
If you and yours really want to prepare for worst case scenario, expect less than a full day between sims and OE. Depending on where you live, when/where your OE begins and what sim period you finish with, you may find yourself with minimal time to unwind/relax/cohabitate/mate before you’re off to the airport. Also know that the OE plan may not reveal itself until very late in your simulator training (if at all), and your bid results for Nov/Dec+ may have no bearing on what days you actually end of having off.
