Recently received the CJO (best day ever!) and waiting to hear from the company that does the background checks. Since I'll be out flying a trip for another week, I'm wondering what types of documents are typically requested. I saw someone mentioned W-2's. Just wondering if there will be other docs that I might only have hard copies of at home and need my wife to dig out for me.

Last we saw on the FS forum you were working on a baitwell or some such thing around the console.

How quickly would a new hire be able to hold DTW (what would be the quickest way there?)

Thanks!

One again, it depends. What plane are you in, what other people around you bid, when the next bid comes, conversion window, if you are looking only to move when you hit a specific seniority. Tons of variables.

Metal wise, 320 or 737. 717 slots are few and far between right now and are all ATL.

Also depends on what this Q4 bid looks like and what the shake up from that is.

Well luckily for most new hires you can expect reserve, which is the easiest bid to make. Just choose days off you request (keeping in mind there will be grouping rules and mandatory coverage days "unstacking" that the software will take into account).

There is a learning curve to the PBS bidding software but there are many videos, guides and pilots that can help when that becomes important. Until then it's best to focus all effort on your new aircraft and procedures. Some pilots that learn PBS, use it masterfully, and some pilots 20yrs later keep asking how did I get that?
