Additionally, if this moves forward as expected, there are indications we could see hiring numbers reach approximately 2,000 next year. Can anyone confirm or provide additional insight?
Unlikely - if they was to happen, every 737 pilot still has to go through the sim for 737 max training according to the AD from the crashes - so we can't start flying them until they are all trained, unless you want a 737Max category and a 737 category. So next year might be a stretch. Maybe at the end of the the year, but we're still not getting them all at once.

I think the current plan is for it to be an extra day added to CQ the cycle before the airplane arrives.

Rumor I heard was next CQ cycle gets the extra MAX day. But who knows, originally I think we were supposed to do it in 2024.

I can choose to work on my off days and make more money. I can't choose to get rerouted and improve the value of my existing trips.

I have also heard there is a “list” of pilots who will be at the airport within certain timeline triggers…and that IA won’t go out until CS has called them. No personal verification of said information.
I think that’s a bunch of crap. In the past maybe so. I know when I was a very senior FO living in ATL the schedulers KNEW I’d get there quick. They had me on speed dial!
Now everything is so automated. It’s all robocalls.

Not a fan of them being able to work me into a day off as a line holder. That should be at least 200% pay. But they seem to like to do that. What you describe is a choice, sometimes the RR or their scheduling meltdowns take line holders into day(s) off. The penalty is not high enough for them to do that. I bid a schedule for a reason. I expect to be home on the day I'm supposed to be home. If that means they have to DH me (again) so be it. Lots of this going on lately.

This is correct. it's still going on despite the Feb 2025 email from the MEC Chairman. This is why we can't have nice things. Please, just stop with this.

L8 pay for me to deadhead straight home on a day off was about 15 hours if I recall correctly a couple months ago. The L4 pay was about 3 hours. So 18 hours to work for 2 hours on an off day.

But it isn’t. See latest MEC Alert…they’re calling from blocked numbers and personal cell phones to get around call recording and automation.

Yeah, this is a required fix for C27 for me too. All schedule changes into a day off are a proffer, for all types of work: regular, reserve, training, etc. (Not withstanding the times it's physically impossible, maintenance cancel on the last flight of the day or something.) And always 200%.
