7ER is a fantastic fleet with great captains, but IMHO any trans-oceanic international will go senior for quite a while.
SEA 7ER was once on par with NYC for having the best flying. Not anymore. The only international is to ICN to pick up airplanes from CAN. Enjoy the lock down in ICN. All the ER is doing is 737 flying. Whoopie. The category has shrank from 250+ crews to around 80 in the last 2 years. Buyer beware.

changes every class, but I would wager the 320 and 737 go somewhat senior due to the fact they cover every base (except there is no SEA 320)

To answer your question directly…

No, no one has any idea.

If you search in the forum, you’ll see that in the last few classes, there have been plugs on all the probable fleets available to you (7ER/73N/320/220/717). It entirely depends on your class and where they want to be based/what they want to fly.

We have had people that wanted NYC that weren’t able to get it.

It’s completely different with each class. Put your preferences in regardless of what others in your class pick. Let the chips fall where they may.

Remember, it’s only temporary.

HNL-HND is coming back in March on the ER and the expanding European routes (not out of NYC) like RDU, CVG, BOS will give the ER trips a little bit more variety. Big packets pre covid had good European pairings for West Coast bases where you'd transcon it then follow it up with European flying. And don't forget the vast majority of Hawaii trips, at least for next year or two until the bus takes it. But ER flying is only due to improve from here. It may not last very long in terms of years but as Bob stated the flying will peak in 2023 for ER on west coast and after that will start to decrease and move east. By then neos and 330 will have more deliveries and growth to replace it. But for a new hire today they could still get some good flying in for a little while.

Perfect, thank you; exactly the reply I was looking for. I had a hunch switching bases was easier, and that’s why I’m here, to get non-fluff information from you all with experience and knowledge. Thank you, really.

Sometimes its the NYC 220....unless its the time it was the DTW 717....or recently it was SLC 220 (and the guy/gal WANTED NYC)

Every class has different people that want different things.

So no....no idea what you could get as the plug. I will however bet my profit sharing and guarantee you WON'T be getting the 330 or 350!

Good luck...welcome to Delta!

I thought it was 210 days max for conversion as opposed to a year. Did I get that wrong?

There’s both. The company can run 1 365 day a year with a published displacement, even if they don’t end up displacing anyone.

Can you switch planes in less than 2 years if you want to switch to a base that doesn’t have your airframe ? Like you are 717s in ATL but want to be based at LAX?

Yes, at 1 yr, but you’ll increase your next seatlock to whatever is left + 2yrs.
