Quote: How long will it take for me to to hold FLL OR MCO if I were to get hired right now?
on the 190..not long, a new hire former colleague of mine got it on his first system bid, so maybe a year. That is if they don’t close the MCO 190 base like a lot talk about.

on the bus in MCO…a bit longer, just expect to be totally stagnant when you get there for a long while. Bus Capt and FOs park themselves in MCO for the long term, and that list barely moves. The top FOs are in the 500 numbers (out of 4200 or whatever we have now) I think bottom Capt is like 16 years now.

MCO is the base that management just wants on the back burner. Expansion was “next year” for the many years I’ve been here. They claim not much money to made, all while NK and F9 explosively grow in MCO and steamroll us.

I will give credit where credit is due. On interview day, the chief pilot that was answering questions was dead honest about Florida. He made it very clear it will not be something you get to start off with and that MCO could be many years on the A320. He said all planned growth is in the Northeast.

A220
How many A220’s are firm orders? Do you see new hire A220 FO’s moving up holding a line quickly and upgrading with the 220 growth? Please provide the DOH for the most junior A220 line holder right now?

70 firm orders. A bit fat on pilots right now as they prep for remainder of 2022 deliveries. Junior line holder is 9/2021 hire.

I’m still surprised that 220 was going junior the past several classes over 320/bos. The guys that took those early 220 slots are in pretty good shape.

Right???
Anyone who wants BOS should be going 220. I mean, unless horrendous QOL and three plus years of reserve is your thing.
Who knows? Maybe folks are thing they 320 type will get them outta here sooner.

Is there plenty of open time to go around to make an extra buck on the 220? I just don’t understand how people are able to credit 120 hours? How is that possible?

Open-time is pretty quiet these days, there is some but probably not worth picking up. Still waiting to receive aircraft #9 and #10. There’s a delay with Airbus working to fix an issue with the lavatory right now. Once that’s resolved we get I believe 9 a220s this year (don’t quote me on that), so the amount of open-time should theoretically increase….especially with summer around the corner. I would guess that in 2023 you would see similar open-time as the other fleets.

EWR Domicile
How Junior is the EWR base going. Is it possible to hold out of training?

It's only been awarded out of the System Bid. No new hires have had the opportunity to bid it yet.
In June, when it opens, it will only have approximately 45 pilots in each seat. By December, it will be 75 pilots. In other words, small.
Overall, the initial bid went pretty senior. Lots of locals living in NJ/PA.
Supplemental bid on 2/22 may give more info.
