As far as picking winners and losers - it’s great as long as the gov is on your side.

Quote: That's all great high level stuff. Bring it down to the individual level.

A lot of us would have lost our jobs, even at SWA. So we benefitted from that corporate welfare whether we believe in it or not.

Disagreed. Others would have shut down way before us prompting us to resume hiring much sooner.

Look at what happened with Hawaiian after Aloha shut down and then apply it here.

I agree. Hawian would have been gone in months thanks to their Governor. Wouldn't have helped us much right away then either AA or UA and then that would have freed up enough capacity that those left could have shared the love. It would have been horrible for the industry and our peers. Imagine all the crap startups that would be going on right now with super experienced people starting over at bottom of barrel wages.
I don't wish that on anyone

Or there would have been enough pushback to change the draconian actions the government was instituting…

true. 50 billion of our money was a small price to pay to get them their trillions of which millions went into their pockets. Its wealth redistribution they've always wanted. Take our money and give it to themselves

We are way way off topic here fellas. Let's try and wrestle it back for those who came here for info on hiring. We can save the poly sci/economics lectures for long transcons and crew lounges before AMs.

Quote: What about other industries without a lobby who lost their jobs. Where’s the “fairness” in that?
It has nothing to do with fairness, but rather stability of our economy. Simply put, the government can't allow our air transportation system to implode, even in the short term. That's the exact same reason we're stuck working under the Railway Labor Act instead of the National Labor Relations Act.

Probably one of the dumber interview questions... But is there a formal or informal policy on facial hair, specifically at the interview?

mustache only or completely shaven. Look like you would at work if working for Sw. No handle bar moustache or anything crazy.
