My check airman during IOE introduced himself by his call sign and I asked if his parents didnt like him or something. Went over his head, but he turned out to be way cool.and fun to fly with and have an overnight. Would literally race you to the bar.
still dont know his real name

Where is the line between "nickname" and "call sign"?

I had a former Navy Top Gun guy for IOE. He went by his real name. Super cool and chilled out which made it all a wonderful experience!

If it's painted on your helmet, sewn on your jacket, stickered on your lunch box, used in your company email, you introduce yourself to strangers with it and it's tattooed on your mistress' left butt cheek. It's a call sign.

I totally dig the embroidered USAF name tags prominently displayed on crew bags complete with call sign and pilot wings. Extra bonus if they also contain the ‘weapon system’.

Throw in some squadron stickers....Shack!!

I enjoyed the military but left smiling at the rear view mirror. Been there, done that, moved on, I don’t mention (advertise, “humble brag”) unless asked. The best trips often involve little to zero discussion about the good ol’ days. Hats off to those who served — in whatever capacity—but seriously, let it go man.

Default Continue Updating Email

Anyone get the email about continue updating your profile and a high volume of applications?

I thought it was the TBNT email but then realized it’s more of a “keep updating” email.

I don't think SWA sends out a TBNT. They just don't contact you if you don't make the cut for that respective application window. It's probably a good sign though that they sent you a be "patient" email.
