The plane is a deuce. If someone asked for flaps two they go on my dnp.

I used to do that...especially to captains when I called for Flaps 5 on a clean airplane that went to Flaps 1, waited for them to get there and then went to Flaps 5. Next leg, they get a call for Flaps 2.

Put me at the top of your DNP. Darn and I was looking forward to flying with ya! I use flaps 2 all the time… Great flap setting for cruising on those long downwinds at 180kts. Trim wheel barely runs too

Thanks
Everyone that responded to my post regarding moving to AAL from UAL.
Thank you very much for the insight. The news about the possible contract improvements go a long way to helping me make a decision. I'm honestly very happy at UAL and I really believe they are headed in the right direction but the flexibility afforded by living in domicile carries disproportionate weight to almost every other consideration.
Lots to think about.
Thanks for your input.

So you know the plane can’t figure out how to trim itself At flaps 5. That should tell you something about that “gem.”

Quote: I'm thinking of moving to AAL and I'd like some input. I've got an interview scheduled later this week.
I'm currently a 737 FO for UAL and I was hired in August. I really love it here and I think the company is great BUT I live about 1.5hrs west of DFW and I never plan on moving. The idea of driving to work rather than commuting is more appealing every time I commute out here to our junior base in SFO.
I'd be giving up about 700 in seniority that I've already gained and I'll be somewhere around 60% in SFO next month already. I haven't had any problems commuting and I love the company but I'm envious of the idea of driving myself to work and being able to sit reserve from home instead of a crashpad. Being with AAL in DFW would give me a lot more flexibility...at least that's what I think.
I've talked to lots of folks I know and I've gotten the full spectrum of answers from "you're crazy to give up seniority and the UAL contract to go to AAL" all the way to "living where you work is a game-changer and you'll never regret it".
Anything you have would be helpful. Benefits differences, pass travel, future contract prospects, Quality of life, DFW seniority...anything.
So...what say you?

DFW just went to new hires in the 12/8 class.

who knows we might get lucky and actually have the contract improvements implemented this time.😂 Of course the dreaded IT difficulties could make that impossible. I’m sure Mgt will try their best.

Umm, I wasn’t talking about the downside of the 737, of which there are several… just that I’m a frequent flaps 2 user.
