How they gonna park so many when the A220 deliveries are so far behind schedule?

Quote: I’m getting the impression that you only want the E190 just because you already have the type rating. I personally wouldn’t do that. All it’s going to do is make your six weeks in MCO just a little bit easier. You’re still facing the reality of having to waste another month down at the schoolhouse to get your A320/A220 type in the next year or two. It’s a huge time suck and it’s a little unpredictable on when you’ll go to training and how that interferes with your personal life. I had to miss a wedding because they can send you four months prior to your training effective date.

Sometimes it’s good to learn something new, and the JetBlue training program isn’t something I would sweat about if you come prepared. The fact that you’re asking questions tell me being prepared won’t be an issue for you. Now if you’re bidding the 190 for other reasons like seniority or QOL, that’s a different story.
Thank you! It’s a combo of QOL and knowing/liking the aircraft. I’ve heard FOs are making good money in the 190 right now and that reserve times are shorter than the 220/320. Is that true?

I assume you will transfer to the 223 after your seat lock is up. The e190 will still be around in 2 yrs.

Is it they can send you 4 months prior to training effective date or award effective date? I'm switching to the bus with a training date in February and award effective date of May and was wondering how often they actually move you up etc. Especially when you already have a training date.

I'm BOS 190 did 2 months short call and 2 months long call before getting a line. Moved from 97% seniority in base after IOE to sitting around 52% right now in the span of 6 months.

Four months, (120 days technically) prior to your award effective date. There’s no training effective date, it’s just your training date. That shouldn’t change unless there’s other circumstances like a delay or cancellation.

I’m starting training tomorrow. I live in the Boston area. Typed in the 190. Looking for some insight on if bidding for the 190 is a bad idea or even possible at this point. I’ve heard they’re already parking them. I would prefer to fly the 190 initially and transfer to the 220/320 when the 190 goes away.

Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!
There is no good reason that I cant think of to bid anything but the 190 if you’re in Boston. You’ll be off reserve just about immediately, youll fly with some awesome crews and have no pressure while you learn jetblue-ness, then you can bail for the 220 or 320 in, like, 9 months. It’s win/win/win.

Hell, I don't know.

Don’t we already have about 12+ A220? I remember seeing 10 planes already delivered months ago in an email somewhere. I figure we'll be at 12+ by now or end of year. 1 for 1 🤷🏽‍♂️

Edit: Just checked. We were at our 10th A220 on April 21, 2022
