Edit: Just checked. We were at our 10th A220 on April 21, 2022

We have a dozen now, took the last delivery back in July (3113J). I heard recently 15 total by the end of this year.

That's what I figured. Well that should answer Bluedriver's question.

I’m starting training tomorrow. I live in the Boston area. Typed in the 190. Looking for some insight on if bidding for the 190 is a bad idea or even possible at this point. I’ve heard they’re already parking them. I would prefer to fly the 190 initially and transfer to the 220/320 when the 190 goes away.

Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks!

You will have the opportunity to make a lot more money on the 190 due to all the open time, including premium pay, especially if you’re local. On the 220 there is not much open time and guys in both seats are struggling to consolidate.

Bottom line if you want make money go 190, if you want to sit home on reserve and not fly as much go 220. I don’t know about the 320. Also the 190 is sticking around BOS the longest. No plans to shrink (as of recent system bid) through December 2023.

Thanks for the response!

The base might not shrink, but the amount of opportunities to make money might. Past performance isn’t indicative of future results. By the time next summer rolls around, things could look completely different as they continue to take 190s off the line.

1. How many currently out of service?

2. Yes, most of them are flying right now, as are most of the E190s. So if you start parking more E190s without taking more A220s, from this point, then block hours/ASMs will shrink.

If you're already flying all the current A220s, and all the current E190s, you can't park a bunch of E190s and only take a few more A220s without reducing the schedule.
