Wow. A couple emails from ALPA about company trying to negotiate outside of negotiations.

looks like instructors have the power this contract. Let’s see if we get a contract this month.

nah. the instructors don’t have the power other than to pass or fail you on a checkride. in my opinion, there’s a coziness that exists between certain entities, and a hope from one entity of exploiting the other, not that it would be entirely exploitive given the incentives. the power is collective. always has been. if certain parties pass on this unique opportunity, others will be approached, unless the union is successful in squelching this effort. the union being us. we are the union. and sometimes as a union we need to communicate with one another. perhaps let the drivers behind you know that there is a wounded animal in the middle of the street in desperate need of help. only maybe that animal is an ungrateful sonofabeeech. we all want a clear road moving forward. we are after all good samaritans. but moving wounded animals requires effort, especially the ungrateful ones; they seem to weigh more. ergo, we need compensation for the food that fuels us. pay us. all of us. communicate with one another the desperation that presently lay in the middle of the road. its quite obvious now. wake up. i know we are all quite tired given the past few years of lateness and revisions, so maybe reach across the throttles and wake up your new best friend. we can save this animal, if pride doesn’t kill it first!

Well said. For me, I just can't wait to nuke the first TA.

That is the most moronic sentiment and. Shows zero thought about the seriousness of this post.

The entire concept is akin to having an abortion, hoping that the next baby will be more acceptable.

But hey- you do you, I’ll weigh the entirety of the agreement and vote up or down based on the merits of the final product.

The fact that I don't see these forums filled with people upset about what went on in the MD training office does not give me a warm fuzzy about the greater issues.

The only power we have is our vote on a TA. My intent on voting no is to change and reset the relationship between the company and the pilot force for the duration of my career. It is not a substance based vote, it is a process focused vote.

This forum is wide open and frequently visited by management, interns for management, and clerks for Ford and Harrison.

Anything you post on this forum regarding negotiations is tantamount to a public statement by the pilots. None of which help our cause.

Exactly. I would like to rage about it, but this is not the place for it.

What is moronic is a NC that won't tell the people they work for exactly what type of retirement plan they are trying to achieve.

If there are pancakes in the TA, I will vote no in order to reset the relationship between the MEC and the membership.

They are supposed to work for us, not tell us that they think we should have.

They were disingenuous in their surveys, on purpose.

That is tantamount to lying to your constituents, which is unacceptable.

This isn't the place. Further, if you think this is the only "handshake agreement" to create waves, I've got a bridge to sell you. The union has their own handshake agreements that pilots don't know about, just like the company does. It's just now there was a chess move to be played in this example, and the union made theirs.
