Quote: I have heard ALK will report Q3 @ 330 million. I hope they do, I hope the made more. I sincerely hope our entire industry does well. I want to work for a strong successful company.
I wonder what sour grapes I will hear about when our snap clause works perfectly for us the next two falls. “Well Delta pitots are making 1.07 an hour more then me… That is just so upsetting, especially since our company is profitable”. 🤔🤭🙄😂
We got a good deal that is only going to get better!
My best snap guess:
Sep ‘23 $333
Sep ‘24 $347
Not if it includes American Airlines. Our union is pushing Alaska rates + a couple dollars with inferior work rules. We will be lucky to match your rates without giving away the farm in QOL.

Interesting…so you have inside information about upcoming earnings announcement and decide a message board is a good place to put it? That seems like maybe a misstep for the smartest guy in the room.

Quote: Nope. You missed my point. See, I have done this before. No one is searching for a Delta commuter that works 690 hard, punching in at 82 hours a month, bringing in 280k a year… guess what, they are out there. No, right now someone is looking for a hustler with an override. A guy knocking down at least 40k a month, average. Then everyone on here will say, “ see that’s what every Delta pilot makes, and Otz only make it at Alaska because he is a sellout.” If you compared the average Delta and Alaska pilot in like equipment for 2022, you would see they make almost the same. The delta guy a little better hourly, the Alaska guy got a 17k bonus. They both made 280-295k. That’s the truth!
You’re right, I actually did misread your other post. I agree, they will both make pretty similar when you compare like equipment.

Wow! All it took was less than two months for a major carrier to not just pass us, but blow us out of the water. I’d say by the title of this thread, you can now answer it honestly. (Hint, it’s the opposite of yes.) If I recall, didn’t the unions all say they were “talking to one another.” Apparently Alaska’s union still had the AS discount in mind, cause that’s what they signed us up for. Pretty bad if you ask me. Oh well, 35 months till we can consider maybe getting an actual good deal. Pack your bags, cause they’re sending us back to the minor leagues quick.

That rate was never gonna stand up

There is no reason to think the current top rate at AS is gonna be competitive with the majors once they ratify a deal.

Whats their rates for comparable category? Attrition wise we still lost 21 on November and already 5 have put in that they are leaving in December.

18% increase DOS I believe. Then 5%, 4%, 4%. Not to mention other QOL improvements.

The snap up “average” will go down in history as an epic fail.

You must be kidding me🤔. This is playing out just as expected. UAL is next, then AAL, finally SWA.
Sep ‘23 $333 at AS
Sep ‘24 $347 at AS
AS management knows they may have to adjust rates sooner if resignations significantly increase.

You’ve gotta be kidding me man 🤣 our snap up is arguably the worst snap up ever negotiated. On top of that, the retro pay in Delta’s AIP is MASSIVE! Top pay in the industry, no sick note for their already massive sick time, 18 hour long call, substantial increase in 401k, and that’s just hitting the top few. The list goes on and on. Alaska won’t adjust anything. I’ve been here twenty plus years and nothing was ever given from this company. Just look at how long these past negotiations went without a dime handed to us. Put it simply, our union sold us on a mediocre contract. They told you what you wanted to hear saying we won’t be far behind the others since “they’re all talking.” It was all smoke and mirrors. I’ll say it again, our NC sold us on the AS discount, tough pill to swallow for you I’m sure.

And not only sold you on a mediocre contract, but forced you on it, with very limited time to decide. Two months was all it took. It was a nice run, but now it’s time to strap in because we’re going down. But, you’ll say otherwise I’m certain.
