We only hire street hires into the Bro FO spots...unless one of the pic line pilots wants to take a pay cut to go to one. Its all based on whether the company needs an FO or not.
PHX has one also. But the FO there was hired REALLY low on time, so they probably won't have an opening for a while.

Like Earl said, we pretty much ONLY hire FOs off the street. In fact, since it's not a captain position, you don't need 135 mins. We do like to see about 500+ hours and probably 100+ multi time. We have hired with less, but the wash out rate during training is much higher below those numbers. You're having to learn generally a much more complicated airplane than you are used to and so more time helps that you're not having to focus as much on basic flying.

Two quick questions guys.

First, being a Captain of a Part 135 freight operation are you required to hold a First class medical?

And secondly, when you update in the 99 does that give you a type rating?

No, you are only required to have a Commercial Pilot License therefore, you are only required to have a second class medical.

The BE99 is less than 12,500 Max Takeoff Weight so, a type rating is not required.

The 1900 and Metro are over 12,500. Getting qualified in one of those will get you a type rating (as will the EMB-120).

Hey guys, I'm interviewing in S. Florida for the Metro in early July...can anyone point me towards an interview gouge? The latest one posted on willflyforfood was 2011; might be out of date?

I'm reading all the threads that show up in the search...but there are tons of pages, so hopefully one of you replies before I've read them all!

I haven't heard of any direct hires into the 1900 lately. We haven't really had a problem filling those internally.

Thanks for sharing all the info guys.

I am mainly interested in the OAK base. Some of my questions may apply just to that base and some may be applied to the entire airline. Thanks for your patience. I look at this thread daily hoping for more info while I am on my way.

My next question is about reserve. All airlines I know anything about (not much) seem to have reserves. Is it safe to assume that AMF does also? How about a base like OAK. I believe there are five or six Navahos based there so is there always reserves available and if so how does that scheduling work?
