Quote: Hi!

You will probably hear in a week or two that, either, they don't want you now, or you are in the interview pool.

Once in the interview pool, the average wait is about 3 months. I would guess probably 5 now, since it's over XMas and I'm sure tons of guys are applying with the IBB looking like it's going through.

Before, some guys were getting an interview in a month or so, most were 3 months or so, and some were up to 6 months. Some of it depended on the base(s) you put down.

Good luck!

Thanks Cliff, however I have heard nothing either way. Completed and mailed in the app 3 weeks ago...! I understand The busy-ness and the slow down right now, I just wondered if it's in a huge stack or if no response that it is accepted is just a silent "no".

Hi!

Sounds like they've got a lot of resumes and apps in lately, so I'm sure everything will take longer than previously.

Good luck!

I've read *most* of this topic, so excuse me if this question has already been answered. When sitting reserve at one of these new bases, how long do you have from the call to arriving at the airport? 2 hours I would assume? Do they ever allow someone to be slightly farther than that on a case by case basis?

NetJets does not have "airline" type reserve. You will not be "on call." Reserve at NJA means that you work more days per month. There is no such animal as a "2 hour call out."

We don't really "sit reserve". The reserve schedule is more fluid than the 7&7, but you still know what you're doing the evening before your next duty day.

The norm is that after your minimum days at home, you call in the night of your last day off (or get a brief via your BlackBerry). Most likely, you'll get briefed that you're leaving on a trip the next day, usually airlining to meet up with a plane and another pilot. The trip could be any length up to 7 days if there's nothing like vacation, training or hard days off getting in the way. Once you leave your domicile and return, however, they have to give you the minimum number of days off. Three days off if you are out six or less days, four if you're out for seven days.

If they don't have a trip for you, you could get a "show at FBO" where you might sit standby with another pilot and flight-ready aircraft. This has only happened to me once in the last year while at my domicile, but I guess it varies by fleet and location.

You might also be told to "show at residence". In that case, if you get called, you have 30 minutes to begin travel. You just have to advise the company if you are more than 90 miles from the duty start location. I've gotten a show at home many times when they had nothing for me and I've only had to drive in once in the last year after receiving this brief.

Realize that if the tentative agreement get ratified in about a week, new hires will be placed on the new 18-day fixed schedule until training is complete. You would know your fly days and off days by the 15th of the month prior. After training is complete, you could bid the 7&7 or the new 15-day flex schedule based on seniority. The 15-day is the closest to the current reserve schedule, which would no longer be available under the new contract.
