Quote: I was told they are having scheduling issues with a sim so a class is being delayed two months while junior classes train ahead
If that is indeed happening, the senior pilots in the delayed class will receive Captain pay.

There's contract language that will protect any pilots in such a situation in regards to pay, bidding, scheduling, etc.

A couple questions for guys who just went through training:

1) If we get STL, how long can we expect to stay in MSP? About 4 weeks?

2) When we get to sims, what's the schedule like? 3 on, 5 off, etc?

3) Is there a long wait between PC and LOE? LOE and IOE?

4) Where is IOE being done out of? Will we be on the hook for hotel rooms the night before/after the trip if it's MSP? Is it usually a productive 4 day or two trips?

5) Will we get moving days after IOE? I'm going to be driving a long ways...

Thanks for taking the time to read/reply. Sorry if it's already been asked, but things have been changing a lot lately.

No clue on most but if you're doing IOE out of base they will deadhead you there and get you a hotel. It will be built into your pairing.

Are you msp based until you finish IOE?

1) probably 3 weeks in MSP
2)totally random but typically 2-5 days of sims in a row
3)no wait between MV(not a PC) and LOE. Wait between LOE and IOE wI'll probably be about 5 days minimum, and likely keep increasing as the weeks go on. This is due to the number of check airmen not being enough to cover the amount of pilots in training.
4)mostly msp. The trips vare in length, depending on what type of trip, the check airman you get prefers.I think you do have to get your own hotel room, not sure though.
5)you will have some time between end of IOE and your first assignment. They usually work with you and accommodate your schedule. They are very good with that.

Hmmm thats a good question. I thought you were considered based wherever you're awarded once you finish your LOE. I'll have to look.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. A friend of mine who is a recent new hire was awarded LAX out of training. Upon completion of his LOE, they gave him a couple days off and then immediately scheduled his IOE out of MSP. BUT the trips were scheduled with a deadhead to and from MSP to LAX. So he was considered LAX based after his LOE was finished.
CBA Section 5.3.a

"All new hire pilots will be assigned to a pilot domicile (one in which line pilots are also domiciled) for the duration of ground school and simulator training. "

So from my experience you are MSP based as a new hire till LOE. Then you are based where you were awarded for IOE. But MSP was the only location for sims when I was hired so...
Don't expect to know anything for sure until the middle of your first week back in MSP. We're bouncing between MSP and STL for sims. I got an LAX domicile while still in Week 1, but you are still considered based in MSP through training.

I was told by the scheduling people that they will begin running multiple alignment bids each month, so base transfers will happen fairly quick I'd imagine.
