Every carrier I flew for had rumors that UPS or Fedex was going to buy them. These rumors are very consistent, and except Challenge and Flying Tigers I cannot recall any other airline being acquired by them. And yes, I remember Challenge and the nice flower warehouse they had in DFW. True, nobody moved with the traffic rights to UPS.

Atlas Air (AAWW)'s market cap is $1.07 billion. UPS has deep pockets but that would be a mighty high price to simply buy out a competitor. Let alone the anti-trust mares nest between the US and EU for basically wiping out DHL's business.

They increased the number of shares by 100% overnight by a near unanimous vote of shareholders. They also set up golden parachutes for executives in exchange for walking away from their contracts. There's very few reasons why shareholders would vote to cut their share's values in half (and why the market price for said shares have stayed the same). A purchase seems almost inevitable and imminent. Question is who has the means and the motive.

Quote: UPS has very deep pockets and has bought out many would be competitors in the past. This would be a cheap way to not only eliminate a large portion of Amazon and DHL lift, but also to acquire 777, 747 and 767 aircraft and also route authority of Polar.

The EU can't do squat as AAWH is a US corp. I could see UPS going after ATSG and K4 in order to back Amazon and DHL into a real corner with no reasonable way out.
Such a troll post.

Microsoft, Google (Alphabet) and Apple must have really bad lawyers, because the EU certainly has been dumping on them.

If UPS wants to be in the EU market they will play by the EU rules.

Given the CGN operation, I hazard to say UPS is familiar with EU regulation...

...which is totally immaterial to an Atlas hiring thread, as UPS isn't going to purchase AAWW.

Predictable and desperate shot in the foot if verified.

Proof?

Isn't social media great!

Remember meeting in person, a FDX pilot that was fired for online posts - that was in the late nineties. Had seen many of his posts online, some were rather inflammatory. The whole situation was pretty ugly and unfortunate. In spite of what he had been posting, and some of it was quite insulting & accusatory, I think firing him was overhanded.

Just goes to show that you dare not have an opinion, at least not one in dissension to your company's management.

Were all just indentured servants to the corporate machine! (Levity Intended)
