Don't beat yourself up...too much. The times, they are a changin' and you'll always run into folks that are salty about missing the 60s when they hired 707 FEs off the street at TWA and Pan Am. But with that being said, a lot of folks here put in years on the ramp before they got their shot at a 135 outfit. Also, the 73 is a handful to fly and would be a great step up from a 145 or 200 from a learning airmanship standpoint. It humbled me more than a little bit, more than a few times. And the block time has gone from 10-15 hrs a month to 25-50, so there will be some actual consolidation of knowledge. Sure, the 2nd year payrate sucks but the pay for all the widebody fleets doesn't really get good until year 3. And 3 months of seniority is 100-150 numbers right now...who knows if that's the difference between upgrading soon or forever from now.
Anyway, if you wanna do ACMI, I'd take the 73 if you get the offer.
