I was a no-tie guy when I interviewed in MIA last year, but if I were going to Purchase to interview, I'd wear the tie.

Howdy y'all. First off, thanks for keeping this thread mostly on topic. Even 900 pages in it's still a valuable resource. I've read the majority of it and have had my app on file since February. I'm eagerly awaiting a phone call, but in the mean time I was curious if someone who has access to the current contract could PM me a copy. (Not sure if there is a post limit for that here or not, but I will find out).

Atlas is my top choice, so all help is greatly appreciated!

The latest vacancy award is out... Here's my summary.

27 new hire slots are available.
20 on the 747 in ANC
7 on the 767 in CVG
1009 Pilots on the list (6 more than last month)
19 pilots added to the list in the last month
... Meaning that 13 pilots have retired or left the company for another job in the last 30 days.
By my count 6 retired and 7 bolted for a better job.
No seat locks released for the 767 guys.

UPDATE:
There is a guy from my class who is on this list and notified the company last week that he was heading for UPS. So make that 1008.

We'll save that one for next month... I'm gonna start posting it every month. It's good information for everyone here. If we continue at that rate we'd be losing 84 a year. That's not enough to where the company can't keep up with hiring, but they certainly can't expand like they want to. That'd be losing around 12.4% of the company every year counting retirements which is just about the max of what I think they can train...

One of the 7 was a guy from my unit who left for Delta. His comment about leaving Atlas around the squadron was, "They need a B Fund."

We need a hell of a lot more than a B fund.

I agree 100%. This job is a great, great, great job, but it isn't in the same league as Delta, American, United, UPS, Fed Ex, or Southwest. Hopefully we'll get there one day though!

I came up with 1,014 total pilots, 424 CAs/590 FOs (does not include the NH slots), with 58 hired and 46 gone since late January.

I didn't look into who retired vs. attrition. I think we lost 53 all last year, with a total of 15 lost to other outfits, which is our historical average.

I've counted up the totals 3 times off of the vacancy award and came up with 1009 each time... Unfortunately they don't post the list from January so I can't go back and see how many we've lost to retirement and then guess on who's left for a major over the course of 2014, but we've hired between 50 and 60 and the list is about the same size. If memory serves correct we had between 30 and 40 retiring this year and there's still 5 and half months to go.

I get that historically we've lost 15 a year, but historically American, United, Delta, UPS, FedEx, and Southwest haven't been hiring at the same time. With the data that we do have I'm saying we lost 7 last month. That's 84 a year. Will that hold up? Maybe, maybe not. Personally, I hope it does so we'll have some extra negotiating chips come next year...
