So they're 6 months from opening contract negotiations, they aim to expand and open new bases, and/or face a buyout by the likes of Southwest or Alaska.

Sounds like a terrible place to be right now.

Earliest contract negotiations will be May 2020. Jude has made it clear to the union that he isn't going to "give" us anything. Even if it means he has to brake his promises to Apollo to grow the airline. All comes down to being profitable.

This is a long game of poker. Things take time. The airline needs to grow for it to remain viable. At some point they might realize that the pilots are an asset to the airline. Until then status quo. Nothing anyone can do. They will continue to throw money down a hole in training and have 50+ pilots a year leave. The pay and benefits package is not even close to industry average. They know that! As long as they can staff... It’s enough. When they try and grow this place by adding 6-10 planes a year which they keep talking about it will not happen loosing 50+ pilots a year. They probably would be more profitable if they paid better and were not wasting so much money in training costs.

Looks like they may have removed ATP as a requirement (regional style.) Anyone know their gameplan for getting new hires their ATP?

My guess would be just like when I got mine, first type rating I got. Do the written and add it on during the check ride?

Any former regional guys at Sunny regretting the move? I want to be msp long term but making decent money at the regionals, looks like it could be 5 years at Sunny to get back to what I'm making now. Any new rumors at sunny on pay or planned growth?

What’s a realistic first year take home pay? Heard you can’t pick up any OT while on reserve? Work for that regional that sends everyone to NYC. Tired of the commute as a CA. Only year 3 pay so first year is the only real cut.

$48hr X 75 hrs a month first year= $3600/month X 12= $43,200

Maybe add in 2-3k in per diem. Once you can hold a line the last few months of your first year you might squeeze out another 2-3K in premium trips. You might break even year two from where you are now.

Still can't believe that first year pay is 48/hr given the company can change it at will and were short of hiring targets for at least Nov/Dec.

This isn't an entry level gig and people can't afford to come here.
