If anyone cares to answer, I have a few questions about the type of scheduling on both the scheduled and charter side of ops.

On the scheduled side, is most of it still turns to either coast with a few overnights here and there? Are they mostly 1-4 days trips at that? On the charter side, it seems a lot of stuff goes to IFP. Are there months where a line can only have a pilot doing charter stuff and spend a lot of nights there? What's the maximum trip lengths on the charter side?

Thanks for any info.

Its a hodgepodge. Yes...many trips are coastal turns, and sometimes overnights. Trips are anywhere from a turn and back home, to 4-5 days. So far all the destinations have been fun, with plenty to do (if you so desire). Most of my overnights have been in BOS, DCA, RST, LAS, LAX, and SAN. Charter stuff...well you never know what you will get. Now we are getting into college football season so destinations are anyones guess. Regarding IFP...I know guys that hit IFP twice a month (and oddly love it due to some of the activities there...pubs, jet ski rental, casino) and others that have only been there once in months.

YMMV.

Thanks YMMV. Seems like there is a good mix of flying for everyone from major cities to small charter airports. Looks like SY goes almost everywhere small in the midwest/south from IFP so I'm sure there are a lot of odd routes to/from there.

Question regarding schedules. I may be one of the guys that is hoping for a schedule full of overnights in somewhere other than MSP. I'll be a commuter until the Spring when I'm planning on moving to Minny. Once off reserve, are there enough lines out there with a significant amount of overnights at outstations? Seems to me, most people like the turns. Wondering if that means there's a lot of undesired 3 and 4-days with significant time away from base that goes very junior that I could fill my schedule with? (Once off reserve of course.)

Many people like the turns but are locals. There are a surprising amount of commuters. While its not ultra-commuter friendly, there are a surprising amount of guys making a career out of it here. So yes, most if not all multi day legs go junior it seems.

Anyone have an idea on what is the "new" interview like? On this board you have everything from just an hr interview to that plus a whole lot extra. The guy with the partial planel nbd approach with holding has to be kidding. Thanks guys!

The interview takes place in the Flight Operations Building C, (on Cargo Road MSP), and consists of a leadership assessment, followed by an interview panel that typically lasts about one hour. I have also heard a log book review. I think the leadership assessment is some sort of hogan/wonder lick test. Even though we have our own sim. That is not used during the interview as of now. No medical
Assessment or NDB sim.... I hope that answers your questions.
