Word to the wise, this sort of situation can *usually* be diffused by the crew member before it gets to this point. Didn't see what led up to it, so no way to know in this case.

But do us all a favor, press for charges in this sort of situation (even if your employer prefers otherwise). Gotta draw the line somewhere.
*+^>ing ridiculous! And this guy's not going to press charges?! He needs to for the sake of all airline crew.

Maybe he didn't handle it like a professional and exacerbated the situation with the pax. I find it incredibly hard to believe, that with the proper decorum and self control, an adult could not diffuse the situation, and/or hand a crazy pax off to the right people. If someone tried to hound me like this I would immediately find other airline employees to circle the wagons and resolve this without raising voices or escalation.

You need to politely ask that asshat to turn off his phone or get out, I believe they think it is totally acceptable in our cell phone world. They just need an occasional reminder that not everyone wants to live in their " have to be constantly plugged in world."

It goes to say to that also there is only x amount of space in the sleep rooms. Nothing like arriving for 4am ready reserve and having a bunch of guys decide to camp out there instead of going to a hotel or crashpad and sleeping in until 8 for the their 9am flight, leaving the people who are at work forced to find somewhere else to get a few hours of shut eye.

Got a tangent/follow up question...

What's the etiquette regarding alarms in the sleep room? I've set an audible alarm knowing I need to wake up for a flight. Kosher? Faux pax? Only other time I've been in there and heard someone's alarm go off was another guy who set an alarm and then snoozed it like freaking 4 times over 20 minutes! That was annoying as hell but then had me wondering...are audible alarms the norm or am I just annoying people with my "one and done"?

Oh yeah, now it's the AA pilot's fault for not knowing how to defuse the situation?! Wow. You're a genius.

You waking up for your showtime is more important than my light sleep. One alarm and get up....snoozing it 524 times is a D-move.

So you're saying you don't like walking into a sleep room filled with 6-9 overweight and snoring Captains who's penny pinching and crashing in the sleep room overnight? Lol
