I can tell from your response that you sir, do not have self control, and I will further make the call that you would not have been mature enough to diffuse the situation. I can garner this from your reaction by the use of exclamation points, insults, and the inability to look at this objectively. Did I offer YOU and insult? I merely offered a different view point and you thrash about like a 7 year old kid. Realize that when you act this way you merely seem like an idiot that I no longer count as worth my time.
Grow the **** up and offer a valid counter point or keep your childish outbursts to your self

I didn't believe sleep apnea was a real thing until my first sleep room experience. Thought I was gonna have to break out the defibrillator a couple times.

Lol, my sarcasm meter must be on the fritz, this is by far the best post I've seen by a guy trying to "diffuse the situation" with decorm and professionalism. I appreciate the laugh.... been a long day!!!! You sir are hilarious

I'm not trying to diffuse anything, he isn't a pax, and I'm not on the clock. My initial response was a counter argument with no insults, to which he responded in a classically childish defensive manner. I have no problem calling him out. Now if he was a pax I would smile, nod my head, and politely refer him to the gate agent and then call the pilot support center if **** gets real. Otherwise as pilot to pilot? Really? Come on bruh!

Let me ask the group a question if they care. Realistically if you were in uniform and a passenger was chasing you down the hallway, would you bat their phone away and keep going? Would you then also get in a verbal altercation with them? I bet 95% of the pilots that work for a major airline would've had the intelligence to go find someone and phone a friend, that's all I'm saying.

I am not excusing the passengers retarded behavior, nor am I saying is it solely the fault of the pilot. I just find it hard to believe that patience and reason could not have prevailed in this situation.

No Kidding.
I'm thinking he's lived an incredibly sheltered life and never has run across someone who wants to beat his arse despite his caring, sharing and understanding conversations with some scumbag.
His post is probably one of the most incredibly naïve I've ever read from a (alleged) pilot. Some people are just scum and when they are keyed up on you, no amount of Gandhi BS is going to get you out of it. Only the threat of bodily injury, jail time or death is going to change their mind once they are spun up.

I'm in my 50's and still run across this BS from scumbags very occasionally. I've either been around a lot of backup (1500lbs of buddies nearby) or just lucky I haven't got my arse beat down no matter how much peace, love and free drinks I've offered. Chit happens. Good thing, my left hook would resemble a Galapagos Tortoise going for a piece of lettuce.

However in his world he beautifully diffused the situation of someone whose maturity doesn't merit his time. If I was an irate pax, I would respond beautifully to such eloquent diffusion skills.

The pilot in DFW that stated his delay was to be blamed on the "TWA plane with a pack problem." Wow. How many years ago???

American has a TWA logo splattered on at least one airplane.

Congratulations. You sir have displayed such an incredible level of stupidity and naivety that I'm actually compelled enough to tell you what a complete idiot you are and in exchange accept the obvious timeout that the mods will soon be giving me for insulting you (as I assume they'll be giving you for calling me an idiot).

That said, it'll totally be worth the discipline that will promptly be reigned down on me. I take great exception to some dumbass such as that pax in the video getting in my face ESPECIALLY if I'm in uniform. It's insulting. Where's the respect for our profession anymore? When I don the pilot costume I automatically assume that I need to maintain a higher level of decorum and professionalism and therefore take GREAT exception to being disrespected in such a manner as that displayed in the video in question.

You're obviously a bigger detriment to our profession than you are a benefit.
