Quote: We used to be able to go 6on/1off on reserve. That made life great for commuters who just wanted to stack all their days together, as well as increased schedule swapping ability. As it is now you're pretty much locked into your RSV schedule since it is 5on/2off all month long. There was talk of the company going back to the 6on/1off, but now they don't seem interested in making that change.
I am getting 4on/3off mostly.

Quote: Looks like I'm right around a hundred - plus/minus from being a line holder. I love the two days off between reserve stints-not. Especially as a commuter. PBS honors a day or two off request but does so with min days off between stretches of RSV I guess. I use the one allowed unpaid reserve drop day to clean that up a little-face it, at first year pay what's the difference between 75 and 71 hours really.
I am getting 4/3. Bid on min 3days off. Only got some 5/2 when I got an entire block of 8 off together later in bid period.
With the 12 guarantee off, you should be able to get 3 off too.
You can also adjust them later, with the swap tool FLICA, and get to the 4/3 schedule that way.
I got a few PRL and REL, you should get them too, so couple extra days off here and there.

Quote: Not correct at all. according to FSM D.17 and G.20.2 and personal experience.
My apologies. You are correct. I'm obviously not as experienced in reserve, and I wasn't aware that this was enacted already. But right you are.

Quote: How many of you pick up RSA days? Worth it on first year pay?
I picked up an RSA out of MCO during the first irop in Jan. I was off that whole week at home and you can pick up an RSA from any base. Well worth it. Great $$ even on first year pay.

Quote: I believe (could be wrong) RSAs go above guarantee for reserve. Picking up open time on a day off does not.
It's also paid at 150%

Any word on when the lodging facilities at MCO will start housing new hires?

I'd wager very soon, maybe within the next class or two.

From what I hear the rooms are very small, only one communal kitchen facility per floor, and no guests allowed (forget about bringing spouse/gf to visit). It is one thing to be stuck here for a short recurrent stay, but to spend 5-6 weeks here as a newhire would be a bit painful in my opinion...

Yikes. I was hoping to get my initial done before it opened.

I guess the spouse is no longer invited to orientation? Too bad, it was nice they did that, especially to explain all benefits and horrible healthcare.

Is Jet Blue seeing people leaving for greener pastures like many of the other large equipment LCCs? Like SW junior FOs bailing for Delta etc.. Just looking at the APC info it looks like good pay and a decent upgrade time. Are most guys staying put? From the outside looking in it looks like a forever home.
