In order to GET that as a reserve, they would have to have no other reserves legal for the trip and no one senior to you grabbing it first. In years of reserve, I've never been able to do it. During IROPs in the NE might be about the only time, but any other time it's probably like a 3% chance of working.

Let's say it's a 2 day trip that starts on a Tuesday. You've got a 4 day block of reserve that ends on Monday, so day 2 would be the money day. They'd need NO 2 day guys starting on Monday when they assign the stuff starting at 7 am in order for you to get it. If you're off both days, it's even slimmer as they'd probably break up the trip over two reserves before assigning it to someone going into a day off. If you've managed to get one into your day off like that, awesome. You're the first guy I've heard of to use aggressive reserve pick up to pull it off. Most of us just count on RSAs for that.

My whole transition class was in the Staybridge except for one guy that got lost in the shuffle. They were able to move him over there after the first week. The class behind us got screwed and were put in the La Quinta.

Question for the RESERVE Savvy: inbound this early am from San Juan - delayed inbound AC, no gate at BOS for an hour. Not legal for BOS-SEA red eye tonight. Schedule modified. DH to JFK tonight. Supposed to finish on wed morning -last day of reserve (assuming SEA). Would have been done at 545am. This was a four day trip. Now TUE and WED showing blank on Flica (not RSV). Am I done? I.e. Can I bug out and assume I'm off on tue/wed?

When I've been assigned a trip on reserve and subsequently pulled I was not put back on reserve. Just released. Check the DRO to see if you're on there. I would call them too, to check. Just ask if you are released since everything has been pulled from your schedule.

Been here less then a year, and already got a few assignments through aggressive pick up.
The FSM flow chart is pretty clear, and they are not allowed to brake up pairings not to give it up in open time.
At least they are not supposed to. The question is, who is checking?

Does one have to be a veteran to attend?

Just aggressive pick up trips or aggressive pick up into a day off trips? If it's the latter, interesting. Granted reserve has changed a LOT in the Northeast since I was on it up there. Down here in MCO on the 190, you'd never get it unless we straight up ran out of reserves and no one picked up the inevitable RSA that would follow. 'Course they could be calling guys in the training dept to cover it, too.
