Word is current new hire class is there - there's a Jetblue wives group on Facebook (occasionally I'm allowed to "over the shoulder" look). Someone's wife posted pics of the current class ensconced there. In case you're wondering the current topic is squawking about how much of our per diem we're blowing on overnights. Friend signed my wife up... I had no part in this

Nice thing about the personal kitchen at the hotel was you could eat healthy at a reasonable cost. This is probably going to be six weeks of Sysco - open the can plop it in the pan. But you can buy refined processed carbs for snacks.... Expect the freshman 15!
How's the gym setup? In the photos I see lots of cardio, some flight attendant sized Dumbbells, and a smith machine with a couple of plates.
Under the previous accommodations I got free day passes to LA Fitness.
I'll add to the Walmart advantage: it had a...ummm.
"Beverage department" that when combined with a $20 blender (good investment for six weeks) made for a cheap happy hour for all!

Where has this "no guest" thing been posted? Or is it just word of mouth rumor passed around?
This whole thing has me aggravated. Having the wife come visit a few times for a day or two during initial training was a nice change. Sure beat jumpseating home during the longer breaks during the sim and was like a mini-vacation for her. Also, what good is a common kitchen with shared refrigerators? Inflight and AO/GO will be stealing your food before you can even eat it... if you can get a ride to a store to buy it in the first place.
This whole "togetherness" thing might be great for inflight and the ops people, but I say leave it to them and let us stay where we had been. I can handle 3 days for recurrent, but when I eventually go to the bus or upgrade the lodge alone is enough to make me not looking forward to training.

Staybridge said JB was paying $60 a night. I would think to recoup the capital investment from The Lodge it's going to take a long, long time.

I agree with gmasteriii. After life In the military on deployments to some sh****a$$ locations AND experience as a regional pilot, JetBlue's accommodations look very nice. Those who have "embraced the suck" before will enjoy their time during training. Those who have never experienced what I'm referring to will complain - it's all about perspective.
