Quote: Also, sorry to beat a dead horse, but I just read the fan and it confused me more.
"A Pilot flying on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day will be compensated at the rate
of two (2) times their Regular Pay Rate (not Premium Pay) for the credit hours (scheduled or actual,
whichever is greater) between midnight to midnight Base Local Time, this includes any Deadhead time.
Pilots required to layover at a Blue City on a Special Pay Day, but do not fly, will receive four hours
(4:00) of Special Pay at their Regular Pay Rate."
The first part is crystal clear. Fly on thanksgiving; get double pay. So the 2nd part about the sit....does that mean if the trip credits 20 hours, I'll actually get paid 24????
Yes, but you won't see that in FLICA. Rainmaker or BCSS will show it as 4 hours of holiday pay.

Quote: As a line holder, I've had multiple trip trades denied because of inadequate reserves. Same days. How identical does the footprint have to be?
Hmm. The only thing I can think of is a trip ending late with the debrief period stretching into the next day; FLICA would process it as a day longer than you think it is, which could cause issues if that "extra" day is red or black. Only thing that comes to mind immediately...

Quote: The question is - what do the reserves look like? Even if the footprint is completely identical they won't make the trade if reserves are red (or even black I believe?). I'm just guessing here, but my bet is over Thanksgiving the reserves are "inadequate."
This is not accurate. If the footprint is the same. The reserve grid doesn't matter.

If you're trying to trade for the next day, I believe you must pick up a trip that shows earlier that what you're trading.

Ugh. I just saw in the FSM, all RSH days are considered short call! I don't know how I missed that before.
So I'll be working 16 days (with 10 being SCR). A reservist for November is working 17 days (they got 1 prl)....and they can get LCR. This hybrid might not be as good as I thought. Oh well, no one to blame but myself; should have read the FSM more carefully.

Last question/comment...and I think I know the answer. If I will be doing all SCR, I assume I am not eligible for REL????

Checked in for new hire training. I am only here for 8 days. Is that normal? Do they extend it every week?

Completely normal. They book everyone for 7/8 days at first, and then once you bid for an A/C and a break (if offered) they will finalize your hotel reservations.

If you want, PTO or UTO the RSH days and then pick up trips on those days if they're available.

Interesting. I didn't think we could do that.
This month I tried to move a Reseve day to a previously PTOd day, and it denied me.

You should still be eligible for REL on your last day as long as you had 4 or more days of RSV.
