Quote: They are probably being hush hush now about base stuff because last time they spoke out, Spirit jumped in on a lot of places that were possibilities. One would think that with something like a base, a lot of infrastructure would be in place before hand. Like securing more gates before saying, "we may make this a new base".
What places did Spirit jump in on.

Biggest one I can name is CLE. Don't forget about our obvious look at ATL. DAL saw it coming way too early and bought all the gates we were trying to get, but one. (We got gate blocked.) The big thing I always say... Don't tell me what the move will be in the future.... Tell me what move we are making now (or even better, last week). That is the competitive advantage at any company. They don't need my opinion and I don't want to give it. I just want them to make the smart decisions that keep me having a good career for many years to come.

Once Frontier announced some flying in ATL (one of the possible bases)...

Growing Spirit up to 15 nonstop routes in Atlanta; 12 at LAX

A few data points for triangulation purposes.

• A Silver Bullet was submitted 3/12, individual did NOT attend any job fair, was invited yesterday to interview on 5/14.

• An average internal rec (non-silver bullet) was submitted 4/22, individual also attended Vegas job fair on 4/23, was invited this morning to interview for 6/16.

Best of luck guys!

Not trying to start an argument, but when Franke left Spirit, he also left with the knowledge of Spirits future growth. I don't think Spirit is copying Frontier as much as we are both operating from the same playbook now.

Does every pilot on seniority list receive a silver bullet to give out? How and when are they handed out?

From my limited understanding, and 'old heads' please correct me, but I believe every pilot is allowed one silver bullet per year. And one must wait until off probation to use it.

Now I'm not sure if we're talking one per calendar year, or one not to be used again inside the same rolling 365 day window Lol!

Sulkair is correct about the silver bullet... They're going back to using them more predominantly now
