Quote: How much is training pay?

How long is training?

Junior equipment/bases?

Thanks and
I'm going to guess you are aware of the airline profiles link on the top right corner of this site. It'll be a paycut for the first 1-3 years. Indoc is about a month and aircraft specific training is abour 3-4 weeks. Jr bases are NYC and DTW. Don't buy a house for the first year, at least, this business is not super stable. Try to find a guard unit that is willing to cross commission you.

Welcome aboard you are at the front of the wave and should have a very nice ride.

If they are held back, yet to be determined.... There will be an extra 20 - 29 spots per month that COULD be back filled for a couple months even though the Flows will get their seniority date when they were supposed to start. After that it will be 29 flows a month for six months, which could eat up all the spots for a while. Rumor at Compass is they are working hard to minimize or eliminate holdbacks, since they had more than twice the time to prepare compared to 2010.

Actually for most connection guys (all except the most senior CAPTs) it will be a pay raise in year 2. By 2015 2nd year FO pay will be over $100 for all except the 717 and that will be $97. My prediction is that once the movement starts 2nd year guys will all be able to hold at least the 737 and that will pay $107 in year 2.

Welcome aboard guys.

Because a small airline like CPZ can't afford to lose 20 pilots a month with no notice. Its a good deal for the holdbacks as they get their number immediately and get to skip 3 months of probation and reserve while being senior line holding Captains in their current gig and are only on first year pay for 9 months.

How many numbers will I need below me to hold LA, SLC or SEA Reserves?

Very sad, 13 years ago 2nd year pay was $115.05 for the smallest equipment. Here's to hoping that with fresh blood in the voting group coupled with the upcoming pinch staffing wise at the Regionals we'll have the leverage needed for FULL restoration. And no more trading bigger RJ's and profit sharing for "pay raises".

Don't plan on the left coast for at least 3-4 years. I just got back into SLC after a 3 year exile in NYC. I have 1200 +/- JR to me.

Great post Erdude, this is needed to keep things in perspective.

The industry is still so far behind, long ways to go! Everyone must demand more at every level.

Erdude,

I agree with you 100% on the pay issue. I was not trying to make a point about the pay rates one way or another, but just pointing out that most DCI Pilots would be better off in year 2.

I disagree on 3 years to the west coast. Once the movement picks up I predict guys will be able to get to the west coast much faster. Time will tell.
