Pilot Selection was very clear about this on interview day. The purpose of building a pool was to have fill-in for hold back (should the hold back option be exercised). He will fill vacancies left by Furlough recalls and hold-back beginning in January. Flows held back will retain seniority effective their original offered class date. Jan will be 14 off the street and maybe a lot more.
Hillbilly, are you saying that's not legal?
I read in another thread (posted by a Compass guy) that Compass exercised the hold-back for 60 days. If that's not accurate, our assumptions are off. Can anybody confirm?

We received a letter that started our 45 day clock per the CBA and day 45 is on Dec 2nd so we should know more then.

My understanding is that even if Compass holds pilots back for the full 3 months (Endeavor has that option as well with the XJ flow pilots), they still take up the slots. This is based on the language in LOAs #9 - Compass Flow and #10 - Mesaba Flow contained in the Delta PWA. If 50 slots are to be filled in a month:
50 slots remaining
20 Compass flow pilots (even if they are held back) = 30 remaining slots
9 XJ flow pilots (even if they are held back) = 21 remaining slots
7 Endeavor SSP pilots (1/3 of 21) = 14 remaining slots
50 slots remaining

9 XJ flow pilots (even if they are held back) = 21 remaining slots

79 pilots added to the seniority list, but only 50 in class for that month due to the hold backs.
Contractually, the flow pilots that are held back will have their Delta seniority and date of employment calculated and maintained as if they had been in the new hire class which Delta initially offered them.

Is the hiring plan still at 50 per month through January and only 20 per month after that as was originally published? I know there has been rumor of more than that, but has anyone seen an announcement? It is sounding like at least half if not all of the Compass flows will be released to start class in January. And 30-60 day holdbacks from February on. Still no official announcement.
