I was hired at the end of the 07-08 wave and we were getting our "Cleared to Train" in about 7-10 days. I'm sure that things are moving a bit slower right now since they won't have you in class until January, at the earliest. Plus, they are just spooling up the process.

Did you get a class date then as well?

Cleared to train came in an email, class date came via phone call. Can't remember how close together those events were. Less than a month after the interview, but again, that's when things were rolling.

Nothing yet, but we were told 30 days from the pilot selection folks. I just wonder how much of a notice they'll give us.

thanks Eldee. it must be 30 "business days" as the first interview was 14 Oct. I suppose there's no rush as Jan/Feb look to be the target for off-the-street...

Does anyone know an estimated date when all furloughs are exhausted?

1 Jan 14 (minus a handful of double-defer types)

Recalls from furloughees should happen soon. Real soon. Then there's the 30% requirement for the Flow pilots, for subsequent classes, the rest to be filled by off the street pilots.

My buddy in Flight Ops at Delta said that the majority of new hire applications that DAL has received from off the street pilots are from SWA & JBLU pilots.

Interesting......

I find it hard to believe that SWA and JBLU pilots make up a majority of our applicants. However, I do find it interesting that they would make up a significant fraction.

Is it possible to hire away JBLU into oblivion? We could even wait for them to complete 320 training, that might unbottleneck our sims.

That first part isn't accurate at all.
