Quote: So if you currently fly for Ohana, if HAL offeres you a job you get to take a big pay cut down to $36. Nice
Is there anyone at Ohana that's a lifer? If they don't want to come to Hawaiian, why would they be living in Hawaii flying for Ohana?

There are several that have gone to Aloha Cargo.
And with WP gone where else would pilots start out who live in HI.

Anyone on here currently in the hiring pool?

As said before there are pilots still in the pool and the company told the pilot group there are no new hire classes scheduled in the remainder of 2018. How many of the pilots that are actually in the pool now that will actually show up for a class later is more of the question. And no there is currently no flow from Ohana nor will the pilot groups be merged.

Does anyone in here remember roughly how many pilots were furloughed after the housing market crash and after 9/11? I remember it seemed kinda higher percentage then other major airlines. Thanks!

Any news at OBAP on when the next window will open? Are we still looking at mid-2019 (based on prev posts)? Thanks!

I think around fall/new years. They said there were 20 something in the pool months ago waiting for classes in the spring. Lets be honest how many do you think are gonna show up? They are supposed to put out another vacancy soon but are taking their time.

Heard that exact thing the other day. Possible small window open in the fall because I’d imagine half of the pool has offers elsewhere. I hope it’s true, already flexed up every month.

Think the number was 80 after 2001... we didn't furlough during the recession. Just the opposite, we continued to hire throughout the recession. Most of those hired are now super senior FO's or 330 Captains. (and 321/717 ass well)
