You're an instructor right? Is the schoolhouse filled with pro-cleaning guys like you?
I hope you can see the many problems that have appeared lately.
This isnt an attack, but your feelings and beliefs are in opposition to most guys flying the line. We're sick of the bs Southerner and B6 has a major problem that's only going to grow.
There's a difference between complying with a policy, and liking the policy. I'm not a huge fan of cleaning when non-revving. My dislike of it has nothing to do with me being a pilot, however. I do not believe that pilots should get special treatment. I pretty much douse myself with hand sanitizer after crossing even one seatbelt.
But as I said, I do prefer it to some of the alternatives, one of which is a fee.
There just needs to be a few voices speaking up to keep these boards from becoming echo chambers. The most bitter on here are not in the majority, though they think they are because 5-6 on here post all the time and the more reasonable amongst us are ridiculed until we stop posting. Well, I don't give a crap what they think, so I keep letting them know that there are others who think differently than them, and who are more reasonable than them.
The majority of our pilot group wants improvements, and supports ALPA. We want change, and change is happening. But we aren't bitter, or hate the company. We enjoy our jobs. This doesn't make us anti-labor or in opposition to ALPA. This us versus them mentality some on here espouse is not productive, and only serves to divide the pilot group.
