Quote: 3. Express extreme displeasure with the policy and educate others that this is way outside the scope of professional pilot responsibilities and outside, wait, VERY outside industry norms as an expectation, let alone requirement to exercise your non-rev priveleges.

4. Use CBA negotiations to ensure our contract states that no pilot is EVER expected to clean an airplane at ANY time.

See, there you go leaving out options again. What is your agenda exactly?

I have no agenda, unlike you. I'm just providing another point of view. It's good to have multiple points of view out there.

Once management gets employees on the gratis train, it is "Katy bar the door." A good example would be People Express....... Who?

It depends how long you want negotiations to last. We could negotiate what we want the name of the company to be. But what are you going to offer or give up to change it?

Striking. I'd give up striking.

Quote: I've straightened my row up.....

I walk off and say "bu-bye" and that's been it....every time. Works like a charm.
That's it my friend.

Quote: So aside from the two extreme examples (not picking up any trash vs picking up everything) - What is the norm? I've always just straightened up my own row (ABC or DEF not the whole row.) while sitting in the back of ANY flight, just as a courtesy, but is more usually expected? and does it come with dirty looks?
That's exactly what I do, when I NONREV on a flight. Leave my spot like I found it. If I'm DH or working, I have better things to do as I'm on the clock and need to be somewhere..

What I find funny is how a lot of times pilots sit around waiting for a full 321 to deplane in uniform while I'm usually out the door. I usually get an akward looks from those kind of guys as I grab my stuff and go.

Yes, but youre supportive of having pilots perform janitorial services. Can you see why you draw some ire ?
You're an instructor right? Is the schoolhouse filled with pro-cleaning guys like you?
I hope you can see the many problems that have appeared lately.
This isnt an attack, but your feelings and beliefs are in opposition to most guys flying the line. We're sick of the bs Southerner and B6 has a major problem that's only going to grow.

There's a difference between complying with a policy, and liking the policy. I'm not a huge fan of cleaning when non-revving. My dislike of it has nothing to do with me being a pilot, however. I do not believe that pilots should get special treatment. I pretty much douse myself with hand sanitizer after crossing even one seatbelt. But as I said, I do prefer it to some of the alternatives, one of which is a fee.

There just needs to be a few voices speaking up to keep these boards from becoming echo chambers. The most bitter on here are not in the majority, though they think they are because 5-6 on here post all the time and the more reasonable amongst us are ridiculed until we stop posting. Well, I don't give a crap what they think, so I keep letting them know that there are others who think differently than them, and who are more reasonable than them.

The majority of our pilot group wants improvements, and supports ALPA. We want change, and change is happening. But we aren't bitter, or hate the company. We enjoy our jobs. This doesn't make us anti-labor or in opposition to ALPA. This us versus them mentality some on here espouse is not productive, and only serves to divide the pilot group.
