1. Choose to not travel as a non-rev. Seems a little silly to me, but that's your choice.

2. Choose to leave JetBlue to find that greener grass. This one may be your best option if JetBlue makes you that angry. Life is short. Go be happy. Especially if you're senior to me. So long, farewell.

Otherwise, if you non-rev, comply with the policy. It's fairly simple.

As far as the choices go, I never said that cleaning and paying a fee were the only options. I never really offered what the options were. I said I prefer helping out the operating crew versus paying a fee, which is true. I do prefer that.

The airlines that make you pay an annual fee to non rev give you free business and first upgrades. So not cleaning and free business? Yea, I'd pay a small fee for that.

3. Express extreme displeasure with the policy and educate others that this is way outside the scope of professional pilot responsibilities and outside, wait, VERY outside industry norms as an expectation, let alone requirement to exercise your non-rev priveleges.

4. Use CBA negotiations to ensure our contract states that no pilot is EVER expected to clean an airplane at ANY time.

See, there you go leaving out options again. What is your agenda exactly?

Does anybody know if that is something the union is looking at negotiating? Seems like such a stupid thing to have to negotiate.

I believe that pass travel rules are outside the scope of a traditional CBA.

Doesn't have to be, does it? Anything should be able to be negotiated, no?

So aside from the two extreme examples (not picking up any trash vs picking up everything) - What is the norm? I've always just straightened up my own row (ABC or DEF not the whole row.) while sitting in the back of ANY flight, just as a courtesy, but is more usually expected? and does it come with dirty looks?

I've straightened my row up.....

I walk off and say "bu-bye" and that's been it....every time. Works like a charm.
